The National Museum Organises a lecture titled “Art Museums and the Prospects of Education and Research: Experiences and Recommendations in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University

Celebration of International Museum Day, which this year is titled "Museums for Education and Research," the National Museum, represented by the General Directorate of Museum Affairs in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University, organized a lecture titled "Art Museums and the Prospects of Education and Research: Experiences and Recommendations." The lecture was presented by Dr. Yasser Munji, Assistant Professor in the Department of Art Education at Sultan Qaboos University, with the participation of several enthusiasts and workers in the museum sector, as well as school students.

The lecture covered several topics, including an aesthetic and symbolic review of examples from the National Museum`s collections. It also addressed various cultural and historical contexts associated with museum pieces from different backgrounds and highlighted the importance of visual arts in interpreting and documenting museum exhibits.

The lecture aimed to highlight the role of museums, especially art museums, as active educational and research institutions.
